Chasing the Light: Landscape 2-Day Intensive

Ellen Yeiser

Co-instructors Greg Cradick & Ellen Yeiser

Come join us as we explore natural light in the wild outdoors! This two day workshop will leave you with a beautiful portfolio of images and the desire for more. We will meet at 10:00 am creek side on a gorgeous 35 acre hamlet 3 miles west of Grant, Colorado, on Highway 285. We will have slideshows and lectures at the onsite amphitheater, critique, and tons of shooting all day and into the night. We will be camping onsite so shooting sunset and sunrise will be covered! Night photography shoots will also be included in the curriculum. We have scheduled the workshop to take full advantage of the yellow aspens that surround this area. Multiple creeks, lakes, aspen groves, forest, and more- tons to shoot!

With two instructors you get all the attention. Ellen Yeiser has made her splash in the art world with her intimate landscapes of water- she has been in over a dozen photography and fine art exhibitions over the past two years alone. She brings an intuitive sense of style and shows students how to listen to and cultivate their inner artistic voice. WWA Executive Director, Greg Cradick has been in over three dozen regional and national fine art exhibitions. He is an award winning photographer that has been teaching at WWA since 2003. Most recently he has created a beautiful body of work showing the Hawaiian landscape. He has taught many technical, theory and artistic exploration classes at WWA. He will be your technical instructor for this class.

Together Ellen & Greg will be teaching to both sides of the brain- igniting your creativity while grounding you in the technical. Topics covered include: vision techniques for methods of "seeing", exploring your creativity by spending time with your subject, lens selection, finer points of getting the perfect exposure, white balance in the wild, light "painting", night photography, large format view camera demo (hands on), filters, techniques for capturing sunset/sunrise, macro photography, shooting for color vs. black and white, lighting in the wild... and more!

We will be camping out Saturday night at the shoot location so we can shoot the entire time! Dinner will be a cookout style affair (with wine of course, bring a bottle for extra credit). Saturday & S unday lunches included, Sunday breakfast included. If you live nearby please feel free to stay with us or go home for the night.
